Labor Day is always celebrated on the Monday in September. It is unknown who first purposed Labor Day but some think it was Peter J. Mcguire. The first Labor Day was celebrated on September 5, 1882 it was on a Tuesday it wasn't until 1884 that the first Monday in September would be the day. The first state to make Labor Day a law was Oregon on February 21, 1887. A street parade is made to show the strength of a community.
